Maggie Valley’s ‘own’ Popcorn Sutton made the papers again today, “after authorities in east Tennessee said they uncovered a large whiskey distillery housed in a barn near his home.
“Undercover agents with the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission said they bought large amounts of moonshine from Sutton in February and March before making the arrest last week, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office affidavit.
They seized three 1,000-gallon whiskey stills, more than 850 gallons of moonshine and hundreds of gallons of mash and other ingredients used to make the liquor Thursday …”
